The day before the 2012 Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition and Bassoon Symposium started, Stockton Symphony contrabassoonist Larry Rhodes (shown at right with San Francisco Symphony contrabassoonist Steve Braunstein) led a small group of us on a cane harvesting expedition.
